The Power of Words

The devil is in the details

The power of your words can persuade your thoughts and actions.

Small subtleties exist in life and often go unnoticed. Yet, there they remain, lurking beneath the surface of our daily actions or inaction, ready to befriend us or cause us harm.

Consider this oft-referenced quote from William Shakespeare (Julius Cæsar. Act iv. Sc. 3.):

"There is a tide in the affairs of men
Which taken at the flood, leads on to fortune;
Omitted, all the voyage of their life
Is bound in shallows and in miseries."

The power of these words has inspired and encouraged many entrepreneurs to take a reasonable risk in their lives!

But what if a few simple words were changed in the original text:

"There is an affair in the tides of men
Which omitted at the flood, leads on to fortune;
Taken, all the voyage of their life
Is bound in shallows and in miseries."

Do you think that change in language would have some impact on the way the world has been shaped?

Never underestimate the power of words and how they can persuade your thoughts and actions.
