Senator John McCain as a president is history, as the country now awaits for President-elect Barack Obama to tackle the challenges ahead.

The charismatic leader will now have to appoint a team that helps him strategize how to get out of this mess that we have gotten into. Rahmbo is on board as chief of staff, so we are in luck.

A lot of energy is going into what the Republicans did wrong in this election, and how they have veered off course. Talk is therapeutic perhaps, but rehashing the past as a rationalization doesn’t move us forward individually or collectively.

Why waste time on such fruitless exercises?

If we are serious about our financial future, better to spend time thinking of how we can help ourselves. Hey, don’t knock it as selfish. One less mouth for the government to feed and one less roof to put over some one’s head.

If everyone did that one simple task, the government could just go play cards with the Maytag repairman. Never fear, there are some brilliant minds out there who have learned how to make a lot of money.  They should be able to to help us all since they have learned the valuable skills of relieving the public coffers of all they hold dear.

Soon-to-be retirees are also dealing with the misfortunes of the market. Adult children now caught in the middle of the sandwich generation, may have to give an allowance to their aging parents. Just when they (we) were tired of mowing lawns and raking leaves.

Self-responsibility has been, and still is the mantra that we preach at wizardzofwealth.com.

Continuous training in marketable skills, home-based businesses, Internet and tech savvy, and trading and investing knowledge are cornerstones to self reliance. Opportunity is abundant for creative, bold thinkers who come up with a good plan and execute it well.

Enjoy the journey. Let Barack and his advisers help Peggy and the country; I plan on helping myself, and anyone else I can. May as well make his task a little easier.
