Wherever you are, get the ball rolling in the right direction.

A body in motion tends to stay in motion until acted upon by an external or internal force. Examples abound. Stock markets, basketball games, or business: Look to any of these and you will find this important principle at work. Who knows what causes the “turning point?” We have all seen momentum shift at crucial moments, reversing the previous direction.

As a business owner, you must do all you can to utilize this important idea. If things are going against you, keep trying, persevere, or change strategies if necessary until the inevitable shift in fortune comes your way. If things are really going well for you, don’t get complacent. Run as long and as fast as you can while the wind is at your back.

You can be sure that it is only a matter of time before the wind blows from another direction.

Apply This Concept
Imagine that you have set a goal to create a personal account worth $1,000,000.00 Let's assume that you have embraced the "doubling" concept. Perhaps you haven't exactly doubled your money every day for 28 days. But you understand that it is a "process," and you have made progress. The last double took you from $125,000 to $250,000. "Seeing" that you are only two steps away from your goal gives you tremendous confidence. As you get closer to your goal, your pace will accelerate. You will become energized as you continue to reinforce the behavior that is producing success. You work harder, smarter, and with more enthusiasm. Watch out for negative momentum. Perhaps you have "broken your diet," so you cave in and really go on a binge. Momentum is now working against you, and only you can put the brakes on, slow down, and turn things around. Want referrals in your business? Help someone by solving a problem. They may tell five people about you, and recommend the use of your services. Continue to do the same thing: Help them. If they are pleased and refer you to five of their friends, you now have a pleasant dilemma: too much business for you to handle unless you have developed a system to accommodate servicing your clients and customers as your business grows. No matter how small your successes , BUILD on each one!
