Learn by studying the Giants, then stand on their shoulders to grasp your own vision and version of the world.

Who knows, maybe we can stand a little taller in the process, and leave the world a better place before we make our exit.

I am still alive, so I guess our Creator still has some work for me to do.

One of the Giants I have met is Roy H. Williams. If you are a student of Life, you may want to get to know him a little better yourself. I must warn you however, he will make you uncomfortable. Just when you think you have everything figured out, he will say something disturbing like “By the end of 2008 there won’t be a baby boomer left in America”.

I am not a boomer technically, as I was born mid December in 1945. Dad was injured and came out of WWII a bit early, so here I am at the head of the line. Small consolation if we’ll all be gone within 12 months.

I can still remember the day I met Roy. It was in the Atlanta airport in May of 1998. I was browsing through a few books as I often do. Most I do not buy, for one reason or another, but I usually learn a little from the writings of each of these authors. After perusing a few random pages of The Wizard of Ads, I knew on page 188 I had to become more intimate with his thoughts.

I read it cover to cover on the flight home. I have been a fan of his ever since. I bought three sets of his trilogy, and gave a set each to our two daughters.

When you find an expert in what you want to learn about, such as many of the Giants featured on a marvelous website like Self-growth, I believe it is worth paying them for their experience and wisdom.

We can always get more money, but we cannot get more time.

Now and then in the future I hope to expose you to a few of these great thinkers at this site. If you can’t wait, then you can find them right now at wizardZofwealth.com , and registration is free.

Although we focus on the financial aspect of self-growth, we believe in life balance. Getting the finances right but not the values is as incomplete a life as is its opposite.

Whatever our dreams, New Year’s eve 2009 is not that far away. We both better get climbing while we still have time if we are going to experience all the goodness that life has to offer.

“We better get climbing while we still have time if we are going to experience all the goodness that life has to offer.”

I couldn’t agree more. I was watching American Idol this week and one of the contestants delayed pursuing her dream of being a singer until tragedy struck when her father passed away from cancer. This is a similar experience for many people… Sometimes it takes a tragic event to show just how short life can be, and that if we don’t give things a try now we may never have the chance. This doesn’t need to be the case. I think any person can achieve great things. Half the battle is just making the effort to try in the first place.
