Are you worried about being able to pay your heating bills this winter?

With winter here, many people in the normally cold-weather areas are concerned about an energy crisis this year.

Prices of commodities like crude oil, natural gas, and electricity could spike much higher due to imbalances between supply and demand. Fortunately, they have dropped from last year’s egregious pricing that was driven by speculators.

Focusing our energy on circumstances beyond our control, however, is an exercise in futility.

Getting ourselves focused, confident, and energized are some of the most important attitudes we can develop. Simplistic as it sounds, exercising, eating and drinking in moderation, getting enough sleep, and taking time to relax will go a long way to minimize our own personal energy crises. Then we can set goals, make a plan, and take action to gain control over our lives, rather than feeling like a victim.

Education also plays a role in our life. Savvy investors, for example, hedge their portfolios to balance the risks and rewards of the uncertainties of the marketplace. While most people are complaining about the rising costs of energy, these investors are making enough money from their investments in a variety of assets to more than offset the increased costs.

We always have a choice: Isn’t it time you joined the winning team?

We hope you will stay awhile and contribute to build our free, on line community of people who want to take control of their financial lives.
